Biography:
Ryutaro Sekimoto is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Diagnostic Pathology, Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, University of Tsukuba, supervised by Professor Daisuke Matsubara. His research focuses on the molecular pathology of lung cancer, with particular emphasis on adenocarcinoma and neuroendocrine carcinoma. He is interested in understanding tumor heterogeneity and the tumor microenvironment through the integration of artificial intelligence with single-cell and spatial transcriptomic analyses. By combining computational biology and high-resolution transcriptomic technologies, his work aims to identify molecular signatures that distinguish histological subtypes and uncover the spatial organization of cancer–stroma interactions. His long-term goal is to establish AI-based analytical frameworks that contribute to precision diagnosis and therapeutic stratification in thoracic oncology.
